Organizing Your Office Vacation

Being tasked with organizing your office vacation is both a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand you will now be responsible for giving your office colleagues an amazing time on a very limited budget which can be extremely difficult and extremely stressful. On the other hand you have now been given a free hand to organize the most fun office trip for yourself and for your colleagues.

Make it count

It is important for you to keep in mind that your company owners organize such trips for many reasons including getting some form of benefit for the company from the trip. To the company and the company owners, this trip and the money that they are spending on the trip is somewhat of an investment into their business and this means that they expect a return on that investment. Therefore, while you are organizing the fun part of the trip it is also important for you to incorporate some team building activities and other such activities that will benefit the business that you work for. If you are creative enough you can organize these kinds of activities while also trying to save money as you are on a limited budget.

It would be a great idea for you to build in the corporate team-building activities into your regular schedule for the vacation so that your team will be having fun while participating in them. One fun idea is to divide your colleagues into teams and have the teams in charge of making a meal for the entire group. You can do this in television cooking show style to make it more fun and you will be guaranteed to achieve a lot of team building within the group through an activity of this sort.

With the money that you have been given, you will have to organize the food and drinks for all of your colleagues for the number of days of the trip, transportation to and from the location and the most expansive of all, the accommodation for your colleagues. By having a cooking game, you will not only achieve the team working together on a project but you will also be able to save quite a bit of money on food for that one meal. As for accommodation, it would be a good idea for you to rent out an entire house on short terms basis that you can all share instead of hotel rooms because you can save a lot of money from renting a house.
